The 4kW R290 Event Cooler is a high performance, water cooled glycol chiller designed for temporary and event-based dispense applications where reliability, efficiency, and environmental performance are critical. Using natural refrigerant R290 and a twin circuit refrigeration design, this unit delivers powerful cooling output while remaining compliant with modern low-GWP requirements.
At the core of the design are two completely independent refrigeration circuits housed within a single chassis. Each circuit operates with its own compressor and refrigerant charge, allowing the unit to achieve high cooling capacity while keeping individual R290 charge levels well within regulatory limits. The second circuit is brought online via a timed delay to prevent electrical overload and ensure smooth start-up. This twin circuit approach also adds redundancy, improving resilience during demanding event use.
The cooler provides approximately 4.1kW of direct cooling capacity and is capable of pulling a full bath from 20°C down to 0°C in around 70 minutes, depending on ambient conditions and installation. A large internal bath and substantial ice bank capacity make it suitable for high throughput dispense across bars, festivals, and mobile installations .
The unit is water cooled via a remote heat dump and uses a magnetic drive base pump to circulate glycol between the cooler and heat dump. A single heat dump serves both refrigeration circuits, operating in the same manner as standard water cooled split systems. Noise output from the heat dump is low, making it suitable for public-facing or noise-sensitive environments.
Designed with practicality in mind, the cooler is easy to install, commission, and service. Multiple access panels allow straightforward maintenance, while standardised components and clearly laid out electrics reduce downtime. The unit is compatible with both flooded ice bank (F.O.D.) and coiled dispense configurations and is available in no-coil or up-to-22-coil variants depending on application requirements .
