Lindr dispensing systems are becoming increasingly popular thanks to their compact design, portability and professional draught performance. Whether used for events, mobile bars or small venues, they offer flexibility in how beer is supplied, including the option to connect both steel kegs and KeyKeg/PolyKeg-style one-way kegs.
When pairing a Lindr system with a steel keg, there are two common methods of supply: using the built-in air compressor or connecting an external gas feed (CO₂ or mixed gas). The air compressor provides a convenient option as no additional gas cylinder is required. However, because the compressor introduces atmospheric air into the keg, the beer will only remain fresh for a limited period. Shelf life varies, so it is always best to confirm with the brewery, but typically this window is a couple of days once tapped.
For longer keg life, the system can instead be connected to a regulated CO₂ or gas mixture. This prevents oxygen from entering the keg and provides keg pressure while maintaining product quality and carbonation. Using gas instead of air significantly extends the usable lifespan of a steel keg once connected.
Alternatively, with poly kegs such as KeyKeg or UniKeg, the beer is never exposed to atmospheric air. Instead, the internal bag is compressed from the outside of the container, meaning the gas or air used only squeezes the product through the lines and does not make contact with the beer itself. As a result, the keg can remain fresh for several weeks, offering greater flexibility for lower-volume or occasional use setups.
Important Safety Note
If you are considering the use of gas bottles and external regulators, installation should always be carried out by a qualified drinks dispense technician. Gas systems operate under pressure and require correct setup to ensure safe and reliable operation.
In summary, the Lindr system provides several dispensing options depending on keg type, product volume and usage requirements. Whether using air, gas or a one-way keg, there is a configuration to suit a wide range of applications.
